How Does In-Browser PDF Security & Stamping Work?
Manipulating encryption dictionaries, form fields, and vector overlay streams
Security, signing, and stamping operations modify specific dictionary objects within the PDF architecture. Our client-side engine executes these cryptographic transformations and layer injections directly in browser memory without sending private keys or documents to cloud servers.
- Cryptographic Security: Password protection applies standard 128-bit or 256-bit AES encryption to stream dictionaries and metadata.
- Non-Destructive Annotation Layers: Signatures, stamps, and page numbers are injected into isolated visual annotation layers or content streams.
- Flattened Export: The output is rebuilt from rendered page images. Marked areas are painted into those images; selectable text, links, forms and annotations are not preserved.
